Meet Our Esteemed Speakers

Dr. Helen Turnbull

Chair, NTL Institute of Applied Behavioral Science
/ CEO, Human Facets

Dr. Turnbull is a world-recognized Thought Leader in global inclusion and diversity.

Her extensive research focuses on unconscious bias and its impact on all aspects of Inclusion. She has unparalleled knowledge on the complexity of inclusion; and a deep understanding of the patterns and mental models contributing to exclusion. Her “Inclusion Complexity Model” identifies 3 Immutable Forces and 4 Permeable Forces that play a key role in Inclusion and she knows what it takes to create an inclusive work environment.

She is the author of three online psycho-metric assessment tools on Unconscious Bias and Inclusion – namely, Cognizant, the ISM profile and The Gender Gap Assessment, and the book the “Illusion of Inclusion.”

She has coached senior executives, Corporate Leaders, and Managers of global organizations like J.P. Morgan Chase, Motorola, Hewlett Packard(HP), AT & T, Microsoft, Xerox, Spotify, Wells Fargo and Citigroup, and many more.

Dr. Turnbull speaks with authority and humor and will use her deep knowledge and international thought leadership to share with us her Inclusion Complexity Model. Understanding this model will ensure you will not only retain your employees, but that they will feel engaged and committed to improving your business bottom line. She will explain how immutable and permeable forces are factors in the success or failure of any Inclusion and Belonging business initiative.

In addition, she will share with us her Inclusion Paradox model and unpack the importance of paradoxically being alike and yet different and how that impacts our ability to feel we belong.

She will take us on a journey inside the dynamics of inclusion and belonging and build a compelling case to convince you that you should not take your ability to be inclusive for granted. Inclusion may be a soft word but it is challenging work to get it right. When you put these models together you will have a roadmap to being a more fully inclusive leader for your organization.
